Captain America is the classic tale of a weakling tranformed to a man of almost super-human power. Steve Rogers, on his own has on super-powers at all but when he takes a special serum, he
becomes Captain America.
Unlike Superman and other heros of the comic books, Steve is not superhuman. He just has abilities that are so enhanced that the rest of the humans around him can't beat him.
For example, Captain American can run a mile in just over 60 seconds.
The Captain America story is told by Marvel comics and those comic books are now widely collectable.
Captain America's tale was also told in a movie, in 1991. The film was directed by Albert Pyun and starred Matt Salinger as Captain America.
This movie also featured one of my friends from Hollywood, Melinda Dillon, as Steve's mom. I met Melinda on the set of A Painted House. Great lady.
