Collectible Kitchenware......Trivets, Tins, Dishware, Mugs
........everything but the kitchen sink

I do not do the C word myself. If it cannot be made in three steps, I just don't eat it. However, I do have an admiration for those who are willing to slave over a hot stove to create culinary masterpieces, I love eating, and I love old kitchenware.

The kitchenware of today is sadly lacking in the character of collectable kitchenware, eh? The old kitchen tools have such character. I would do my whole kitchen in them if I could afford it. It's not like I use it much anyway, might as well make it a museum. This is my newest area of interest so check back as this category of collectible kitchenware grows.

If you are looking for something in particular, in the collectible kitchenware department or any other of my growing collectibles categories, please let me know and I'll search for those items.

collectible kitchenwareIron Trivet from Japan This is a hand-painted trivet from Japan. The back has a crown embossed in the center, the word Crown left of the image and the words Made In Japan to right of image, in all caps. The trivet features a rooster crowing. It has some slight age spots which may come off with the right cleaner and the old glue squished thru in two places on front slightly. $8.00 plus shipping.

About Roosters: A rooster is actually a male chicken. Like the rooster on this collectible iron trivet, they are typically painted crowing loud and proud. Since there is usually only one rooster to a dozen hens or so, I guess there's logic to that. My favorite cartoon rooster is Foghorn Leghorn who first appeared in Warner Brothers cartoons in 1946....at least, I think Foggy is a rooster....

collectible kitchenwarecollectible kitchenwareVintage Pet Milk Recipes Tin - I don't know the age of this but know it is at least as old as the late-70's. Inside, there are lots of recipes and a cents off coupon dated 1979 (coupon will come with tin). It is imprinted in raised letters on the bottom with the following: Container Manufactured by Barringer Wallis and Manners, Mansfield England Since 1890. Thi is just a treasure, full of character. As old tins are known to do, it's a little rusted looking in places, which just adds to the character. One side of the tin has come loose just at the very top but it still closes tightly and fine. $15 plus shipping.
