Over the 8 years I've been online, I've seen dozens of programs go under. Sometimes they paid me what they owed me when the affiliate program terminated and sometimes they didn't pay me. It was a hard lesson.

The internet is a fiercely competitive arena and you have to learn how to design a webpage full of original content and learn how to promote and advertise like a pro to make it but at least you can feel reasonably sure you have programs that will work and products that will sell once you get thru the learning curve of internet marketing.
