In the 8 years I've been online, I've seen literally dozens if not hundreds of affiliate programs come and go. One thing you must ask yourself is whether you are willing to have to replace all your ads, and all your pages, on any given product or program at any given time. I literally have hardly had a week go by, in 8 years, that I haven't had to replace some product that has been discontinued, revamp a page on a program that is no longer available, or track down classified ads all over the universe when a program goes down or a product is discontinued. It really is one of the most challenging aspects of affiliate marketing. The other thing that happens (it's happened more times than I can count since I've been marketing online) is that a company will change their affiliate program. What that means for you is that you then must change every single link you have anywhere, as each affiliate tracking program has unique tracking codes. Talk about a headache!
So, just set your mind to be dealing with that all the time. If you don't think you can, affiliate marketing is not for you because you can't afford to have bad links or missing products on your site so these issues have to be taken care of the moment you become aware of them, even if that is at 8 pm at night after you've already put in 10 solid hours.
If you're ok with that, then you may make it in affiliate marketing but you still need to be sure you have good products and good companies behind those products. You may ask how do you know who is good and who is not? They all sound good, don't they? Well, here's where I can help. After 8 years, I know only a handful of programs that I'd recommend and I'm sharing them with you on this site. so....the first step is to find the right affiliate programs. Done!

If you are just starting out at affiliate marketing then you may not know what to do after you join these programs. It may seem like the easiest thing to do is just copy what's on the website or in the ads provided. Wrong. Unique content is still king on the internet. Without it, you will not make money with affiliate programs, period. So either hire someone to write articles for you, articles that tie into the products you want to share with people, or write articles yourself to add to text or banner ads promoting products or programs. By the way, text WAY performs banner ads on all my sites. Use banners judiciously.
You can find free articles online but most require a link back to the article site and/or a link to the site of the author so check out the pagerank of sites you have to link back to before you decide to use the article on your site. Also, do a search on the first sentence of the article and see how many other sites are already using it. Google won't list every page with the same article and duplicate content banning might result.
